OwnCloud AD Home Folder

I'm looking to possibly implement OwnCloud and read that it can be linked to AD home directories and you have to set the root path.

However, if users are located on different servers, I.E staff on one and students on another, can it use the value in each users AD user account or can it only point to one home folder?

Not sure but setup a DFS share and you can point multiple server shares under one umbrella share.

 

For example:

\\server01\pupils

\\server02\staff

 

DFS share becomes:

\\dfs-share-name\pupils

\\dfs-share-name\staff

 

That’s how we do it.
