reggiep Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 I am currently trying to embed a google map of our school on a "find us" page. Whenever I edit the page as html and save it, the html disappears. I could well be putting the wrong tags in so could anyone suggest how I could add the map or an alternative so visitors can find us? Thanks:confused:
shutdownplease Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Google Maps API - Google Code might that be the solution? 1
reggiep Posted May 20, 2008 Author Posted May 20, 2008 Sort of but it wants a domain name which I don't have set up yet! Thanks
Edu-IT Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Sort of but it wants a domain name which I don't have set up yet! Thanks When you say Google map do you mean an image of or are you actually wanting people to be able to use the interactive map? If you want it to be interactive then you could use an iframe, although that is not the best method. If you post your code then that will help too.
rush_tech Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Sort of but it wants a domain name which I don't have set up yet! Thanks Yes the Google API key has to be associated with a domain
Edu-IT Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Sort of but it wants a domain name which I don't have set up yet! Thanks If this is going to be on the school website then you could just put the school URL? It doesn't matter that it's not live yet, I don't think.
reggiep Posted May 20, 2008 Author Posted May 20, 2008 I just put the url http://maps.google.com/maps?q=40%20hesketh%20avenue,%20prenton,%20uk into a wrapper and that works a treat!
