Google App Inventor 2 - Anyone using it?

Hi All,

 

I've had a request to look setup Google App Inventor 2: https://appinventor.mit.edu/explore/ai2/setup

 

I've had this setup on our system back in 2016 I think it was but we were Windows 7 then without AppLocker if I remember right. I remember it being a pain to run then so I had hoped it might be a new program now. Doesn't look like it though.

 

Are people running it on Windows 10 with AppLocker running? If so any tips?

 

We're likely to also need the emulator setup as well.

Are you going to be using actual devices?

I think if I were starting from scratch I'd use one of the other app building sites like Thunkable or Appybuilder. App Inventor was great, but I think it's been overtaken.

Could I ask what others are using for the emulator?

Is anyone using an emulator or just using physical phones for testing? If so did school purchase the phones/devices or are you using student phones?
