I'm trying to set up some overnight command reporter extractions from Sims for Behaviour and Achievements. We use Classcharts for entering these the secondaries in our MAT. I set it up in one school to test and it worked fine, in the reporting catalogue I used 'Awarded by' for achievements and 'Recorded By' for behaviour so to identify which member of staff instigated them, both were written back to by Classcharts, or at least appear to be. On another school though the 'Awarded By' was blank. When I contacted Classcharts they said that the Sims API does not allow 'Awarded By' to be written to, so when I questioned why thousands of 'Awarded By' were being written back they suggested Sims might do that automatically, which is just a brush off in my book and doesn't answer why in the other school 'Awarded to' was completely blank and so Sims apparently doesn't do it automatically.

Does anybody else use Classcharts for Achievements and can they let me know fields are being written back to.

Simple answer is very little! All I get populated is the member of staff assigning whatever to whoever and a date. No class name, subject or period information. My reports and PowerBi intelligence analyses have been rendered totally useless now.

SLT now want to use the attendance side of things in classcharts. It doesn't write back the lesson registration information and not sure how it copes with a lesson period being mapped to a statutory session. My guess it won't map or write back.

Upshot of all the above is now we do not have a complete view of a student and analyses are very much harder to create and we now have split databases. I won't bang on about the implications of GDPR and SARs. Having information split is not a good thing and to be avoided at all cost if possible. From a safeguarding perspective it's not helpful or good practice. But surely SLT are aware of all that?

I'd forgotten I'd posted this, in the end it was because they used Groupcall at one school and Wonde at another and they were writing the same data back to different fields.

If you have a 6th form and you have any timetable clashes, for instance if students do some courses out of year, then this can cause issues with the registration system on Classcharts as currently it fails to differentiate the lesson that you prioritise for that student in curriculum management.
