Zuludesk (now Jamf) MDM removal

Hi,

 

I might be missing something but does JAMF and the latest IOS not allow you to stop the removal of the MDM profile for 30 days?

 

If I remember the old IOS had a restrictions section so you could pin protect the setting to remove a profile.

 

Got quite giddy as I actuaully managed to get a IOS supervised with the latest IOS... then realised if I give staff the pin they can just uninstall it.

Depends how you added the devices. If they were added to DEP from new then you shouldn't be able to remove the MDM profile. If they were added to DEP using AC2 I believe you can still remove it for 30 days. If they were built using Apple Configurator 2 and added to JAMF without DEP then they can always remove the MDM profile.

Ok ta, I couldn't add them to DEP as they weren't bought from apple so I did during the configuration stage... they are showing up.

 

So after 30 days the option to remove the device management should vanish, I suppose if your given them to kids you need to buy them from Apple of not give them out for 30 days.

If you buy them from an Apple Solutions Expert who are all DEP Registered then they get added to DEP automatically, not just from Apple direct
