Hi, All

I have just got a batch of 30 Stone Laptop, I have created a RIS image & have tried to image a Laptop.

This is the error message I get: -

setup cannot set permissions for \Device\Harddisk0\Partition1\899514b31b4766b4abc9\update

I was wondering if any one can help to fix this issue.

Also we are running Windows Server 2003

Thanks

Looks like an old Microsoft update folder. These should be deleted once the update is completed but sometimes they remain with stuffed permissions. Try going back to the original laptop you imaged deleting the folder then reimaging.

My Laptop is not part of a network at the moment, so I can't take ownership of the windows update file.

On my Laptop I have logged in as Administrator, so I should have full control of the files on my Laptop, but I still can not remove them. Why not?

Please could some one help me remove these files & please explain why I cannot delete these old windows update files when being the Administrator.

Thanks

Even as Administrator you may not have sufficient access to delete the files. You can get the required access by taking ownership of the files. If you are unable to take ownership of the files you are not logged in with an account that has local Administrator rights.
