Disable students Hyperlinking in MS Word to Local drive

Is there a way to stop this?, Students creating a Hyperlink in MS Word to c:\ which gives them access to the local drive.

I cant seem to see anything in Group Policy which relates to this?

Honestly you're fighting a loosing battle. However many ways you can think of that they can do this there are 100 more.

Focus your energy on making sure that when they get access to C drive there's nothing damaging they can do by ensuring permissions are correct and no unwanted software is present.

By trying to block these things you just turn it into a game. We don't even restrict access to these things and it's not a problem. What can they really do?
