Network Location Awareness

Anyone had issues with Network Location Awareness ? Where it changes the network type to private instead of domain ? Had a few issues of it lately (firewall) and was looking for the best way to fix it. I read that setting the service to automatic (delayed start) can fix it which would mean pushing out a reg key

We actually had this issue on a couple of servers. Not sure what we did to fix it but it might have been this -

 

 

1. Go to the NIC properties for IPv4.
   
2. Click the "Advanced..." button.
   
3. Select the DNS tab.
   
4. Enter your domain name into the text box for "DNS suffix for this connection:".
   
5. Disable and then enable the connection to get NLA to re-identify the location

Not sure what's happened but it's just started happening on a few PC's and seems to be related to one cab. I'll try your suggestion and I've also added delayed auto start via a reg key and gpo to see if it clears up

If my method works, I think we had a script that could be deployed. Let me know and I have a hunt for it.
