Sheridan Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 Got a bit of an odd problem with an ipad. Previously it was used without any MDM and had a personal AppleID on it, this was removed and the ipad joined to Meraki and policies applied. Now it seems that there are photos and videos from the previous apple ID, (shown in photos as 'From my Mac') which are seperate to the 'normal' photos and videos. You can't access them via a PC or Mac nor itunes on either, nor can you delete them directly on the device. I assuming they were synch'd from some personal account and therefore are seperate but is there anyway to delete them without wiping the entire ipad?
Brimstone Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 You mean you didn't bother to wipe the iPad before you then deployed it? It's likely this iPad has either; iPhoto Stream is turned on on the iPad which is why you can see them, or The iPad had a shared album on it from someone else. You are likely going to have to wipe the iPad...Dont try and wipe it using AC2 just erase all content and settings on the iPad....?
elsiegee40 Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Try going to settings Tap the top bar which says Apple ID, i Cloud, iTunes and App Store Scroll to the bottom and see if there are any other devices listed. • If there are then use “Remove from account” at the bottom. The personal account owner really needs to do this too for any Devices they no longer own on their Apple ID
Sheridan Posted November 8, 2019 Author Posted November 8, 2019 There's no devices or iCloud account on the device, it seems to have orphaned these photos. I 'didn't bother' to wipe it as the person who it belongs to needed to access these old videos for a while. The ipad was bought initially by the school but given to the user who used a now forgotten apple ID , and then was decided it was needed in school so this one was a bit of a compromise. So we simply configured it with AC and added it to an MDM, now they have they new videos on so we'll need to copy off both the new and old photos before resetting it completely. I just find it odd they still show up, yet aren't associated with any apple account on the ipad, and can't be removed either.
