Hey, have any of you guys seen EduDesk.org, I found it in a google search earlier when looking at ways to link my sisters use of computer at home with what she is currently doing at school. Some of their stuff looks interesting, they havent posted any code yet but the ideas behind their stuff sounds good.

The only problem I see with the software being made available open source is that schools may not adopt it as it will probably lack as much support

To be honest it will probably be the opposite. It is free, allot of schools don't have a big budget to pay for similar solutions. People I can think off the top off my head who are keen users of open source in school are webman and geoff (forum members)

From what I can tell the software attempts to replace exercise and text books with an application which is able to differentiate content based on the ability of a child. I just noticed a recent update to the site which is desks with a built in computer designed especially for schools, the designs are being made available free of charge to hardware manufacturers.
