solidworks 2019sp4

I'm trying to deploy solidworks 2019 sp4 through active directory. The prerequisites are installing.

 

I have a weird problem with the main msi on an admin image, with or without transform, even run manually.

 

It gets to ~99.9% and then rolls back for no apparent reason.

 

The only log you can get is the default msi log which is 88mb and the only obvious thing in it is a 1603 fatal error code.

 

 

Anyone else deploying this version?

We've got it deploying okay, but we're using the following install command through MDT.

startswinstall.exe /install /now

 

I guess you've tried re-downloading the admin image.

I did.

 

 

I've figured out the problem. I've been following the 2017 instructions not the 2019 instructions. The 2019 instructions have additional pre requisites of visual c++ 2013 and 2015. Unfortunately the 2019 instructions are wrong because you can't just extract an msi like the old ones. As far as I can find out there are no msis for these versions....
