Getting Inventories for our sites

Hi all, I need to write a 3 year plan for our school and other schools in the trust. We have Excel spreadsheets, they show details like PC make/model, projector bulb life, etc... I also need to show how long the life expectancy is so I then have a traffic light system..so Red means replace now, Yellow year 2 and then Green year 3+.

 

I can continue with that, but before I do does anyone have a snazzy template they use or something online? We do have Sharepoint etc..

Weve just setup snipe-it, seems to be going well!

I second Snipe-IT. Implemented it at a couple of schools now and works really well

Have you hosted it internally or gone with their hosted solution?

Does it do all kit? Switches, servers and the like? Does it do fancy things like port allocations?

I'm torn between Snipe-It and GLPI. GLPI covers a lot of stuff, but may be too much that will just get ignored and get out of date.
