Backup a small amount of files to our Google drive space. Advice please

I need to find the best way of backing up a small amount of files to the cloud for a primary school.

90% of the school files are already cloud based, there are just a few folders that can't be in the cloud, including Sims, FMS nightly backups. We also have cloud to cloud backup, so the cloud based files are also safe.

During the night I use Windows Server backup on the host to backup both Hyper-V virtual machines to another server running as ISCSI target. These take most of the night to run.

My options as I see them are....

Use something like Cloudberry. This seems a bit of a waist of money for just a few folders / files.

Use Google Backup & Sync. You can disable the sync, but the backup only has the option to keep deleted files or to delete them, so it might not be any good for backups.

I might be able to use Windows Server Backup to backup to a folder or USB and then use Google Backup & Sync to move those files to the cloud. I am not sure how Backup & Sync would handle the files with this setup.

Any other ideas?

EDIT - As my virtual machines get backed up during the night, am I best to do any file level backups (in side the data VM) during the day?

Just had a thought.... If I use backup and sync, disable the sync and enable delete files deleted locally, I can then use our cloud backup software to get and backup the changes on a day to day basis.

Will see how this goes
