Just a quick tip. On the EeePC recovery disk is a utility to create a bootable USB drive with the recovery image on there. Very handy if like me you have discovered that the recovery DVD is not as bootable as it should be!!

The program (ToolHelper.exe) to set this up is located in the \software\bootTool folder

Hi yes we've done this. We followed the instructions in the manuel, so easy to do.

Took less than 5mins to restore the eeePC to the original factory settings after booting off the usb!

If you want help, you could go about it in a different manner to that! maybe manners would be the first thing to put right before asking for help.

anyway,

you say you have tried making the USB bootable... but have you actually managed to get it to work.. ?

Have you tried pressing F9 during startup?

Sorry for my angry ;)

I tried so many things unsuccessfully...

When I boot from my key, it says =

Reboot end select proper device ( I did it with ESC )

or insert boot media in selected boot device and prss a key

I suppose my usb key is not properly done

I have a 8 Go key.

The last thing I try was to follow this :

Eee PC 1000H Recovery from USB Flash Drive myeeeguides.wordpress.com

BUT the PeToUSB program doesn't go to the end, error and abort.

Thanks a lot if you could help .
