Dos_Box Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Just a quick tip. On the EeePC recovery disk is a utility to create a bootable USB drive with the recovery image on there. Very handy if like me you have discovered that the recovery DVD is not as bootable as it should be!! The program (ToolHelper.exe) to set this up is located in the \software\bootTool folder 1
plexer Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I thought you just pressed f9 when starting up to get into the factory restore option? Ben 1

Took less than 5mins to restore the eeePC to the original factory settings after booting off the usb! Page 6-8 of the manuel Edited May 16, 2008 by flashsnaps
plexer Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Took me 30 seconds to do one with f9 the other day. Ben

If you want help, you could go about it in a different manner to that! maybe manners would be the first thing to put right before asking for help. anyway, you say you have tried making the USB bootable... but have you actually managed to get it to work.. ? Have you tried pressing F9 during startup? James.
