Managing young students files & documents on Chromebooks

Our goal is making life easier to teachers gathering students portfolio (usually scattered on multiple PCs, unless using AD Remote Desktops) and students (young students workflow when opening & saving data files).

Chromebooks allow saving locally and on Google Drive, however not all apps support saving on Google Drive (particularly Android apps running on Chromebooks) and although some apps can actually achieve this, there's a chance the teacher is forced to manually access each student account to grab data files in each drive (unshared) folder.

How do you cope with this limitation in your school? Do you accept apps that can only save to local storage, with all the considerations this limitation entails? This concern is particularly acute for very young students....

Yes, but for now this is limited to KS3 students, while the new Chromebooks will be used down to KS1 students. Actually we're looking for a path to fasten all operations like logins (clever badges) and saving & retrieving data. Tricky task for age 5 students! Edited September 28, 2019 by Blutarsky
