[sims] individual report and linked documents

Dear All

 

I am having issues opening the linked documents which are uploaded using individual reports. I have been using this for years without any issues, since we update our word to 2019 from 2010 i can't open this, it only opens XML codes.

Any advice will be much appreciated. Is there any way we can upload the linked documents in pdf format in simms.

According to the latest Capita roadmap, Office 2019 won't be supported until the Summer 2020 release of SIMS. Having said that, it sounds like your file association of xml files isn't going to the MS office XML handler application but instead is associated with a web browser which is why you are seeing the raw XML. There are various guides around you can Google about re-associating XML files with MS Office.

Thanks Esteban. I think you are right, this looks to do with file association issue as i have seen it's seem to be opening ok with some teachers with exact same version of office.
