SIMS Data Manager – South West Essex * URGENT *

9 – 12 month (maternity cover) fixed-term contract

Salary £33,000 plus benefits (full time role)

Our client, a prestigious independent school in South West Essex, are looking for an experienced SIMS Data Manager to join the school’s data team on an initial 9 – 12 month (maternity cover) fixed-term contract.

 

As the Data Manager, you will maintain the school management system (SIMS) across both the Prep and Senior Schools and provide the management and co-ordination of efficient procedures relating to school assessment data systems - maintaining accuracy, integrity and confidentiality.

 

Your main duties will include:

• Ensuring all staff and student data held on the School Management Information System (SIMS) is entered accurately, complete and kept up to date.
  
• Acting as lead advisor for the school in relation to its compliance with GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
  
• Ensuring teaching, support and admin staff have had sufficient training and guidance in the use of the MIS enabling it to act as a useful and effective source of information.
  
• Issuing best practice training guides on specific applications for users.
  
• Assisting in the timely and accurate collection and collation of data for DFE, ISI and other government bodies returns and submissions, including the census.
  
• Assisting the HR Department to upload new staff data onto MIS, archive leavers and make any updates.
  
• Producing ad hoc bespoke reports and information to staff across the school on request and assist the Director of Assessment and Timetabling with any database requests.
  
• Managing the data synchronisations, support and GDPR compliance of 3rd party applications including SOCS, Wise Pay, Evolve and Room Booking System etc.
  
• Managing the archiving retention of historic school data in compliance with GDPR regulations.
