Third party surface dock and pen

Anyone using a third party surface dock or pen? Thinking of getting them but the official ones are about £200 in total. Just wondering if any cheaper alternatives are work it or just the official ones.

As far as third party pens go, you should be fine. I used to use a 'Zodiac' branded pen with good results. Some people prefer the third party pens.

 

For the dock, I don't think the features can be replicated by a third party - eBay might be a better shout.

We're just about to pack up a whole load of surface docks to sell to a refurb company. Nothing much ever really went wrong with the docks (apart from needing to rebooted every so often), buying refurbs is probably quite safe. Glad we are now using usb-c devices and docks, rather than being stuck with proprietary connectors the Surface pros had. When last had to buy more surface docks, I tracked and created an alert on Amazon/camelcamelcamel as the price sometimes fluctuated a bit on there.

We never tried any 3rd party docks or pens.
