ITGURU Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 I have an HP ML350 G10 server running as a hyperv host with 1 x Server 2019 VM, In the VM administrative events i've got loads of Error 51 An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk2\DR230 during a paging operation. The VM has 2 drives, 1 vhd for windows, 1 for data. On the host under administrative events there are no disk errors showing. What would be the course of action from here to resolve the errors showing on the VM?
HPlum78 Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 (edited) Is it local storage on the host? What's the VM running is it at a specific time is anything starting or stopping at the time of the error? Edited September 5, 2019 by HPlum78

HPlum78 Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 I have seen this before on a VM Ware host and win server from memory you could increse the disk wait time in the registry, would need to dig out the exact key as I cannot remember it of top of my head. That said it would not be my preferred way of solving the issue but it at least gives some insight in to what the actual issue might be.
HPlum78 Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Disk\ Edit or add key called TimeOutValue (REGDword) set the Dec value to 60 All normal caveats around reg editing apply. see if it elevates the problem.
