Disease Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Everything went fine but I have just a few intermittent issues with group policy applying randomly. The main problem GPOs are start menus, Printers and default keyboard. Mostly they apply as normal but randomly they will not or they will pop in 10 mins after the user has logged in, never had this with windows 7..... Other than that Windows 10 has been ok, any thoughts on anything I can do to stabilize it.
mikes Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 I've deployed it this summer too and am having intermittent issues with the start menu layout, some staff will get the correct one; others will get a default one - others will get the correct menu but icons will be missing or will do nothing (Even though you can run the program from the links location). I haven't heard any complaints regarding students missing start menu icons; the students use a different .xml but they are otherwise set up identically; not sure if perhaps wireless is the cause for me? 1
Chaniel Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 In the past we found that with our PCs with SSDs and Windows 10 will sometimes boot quickly and students were able to login before the network adapter had initialised properly, so GPOs weren't getting applied as they should've, despite being set to wait for network before allowing logon. Think I followed the guidance in this post and that seemed to help a lot. With your default keyboard, did you install the correct version of Windows 10 as well? There is en-US and en-GB versions and you have to make sure to select the en-GB version from VLSC. 1
