Sccm setup

I have today had sccm added to our licensing, I had just had look in VLC and there quite a few different version of sccm 2019 should I be installing the config manager along with SQL.

 

Are you running sccm on server 2019 or window 10 .

 

Are you running sccm on dedicated hardware I watch a video earlier and a guy have 7 different ssds for different parts of the install.

We currently run it in a vm with the database in a separate vm, we have less than 1000 devices so are planning to just use one vm containing sccm and the database, separate drives for os, sccm data, sccm sql. On 2012 at the moment but will do server 2019 with the new server.

Thanks great guide, in the first guide it asks to install DNs and DHCP can I not point it to our DC we currently have ? Or can them steps be skipped.

As long as you have a working setup it's fine, it's just because it's designed to create a brand new lab using windows noob tuts

I have question about this. SCCM was set up in our college by a previous company that supported the college. As it wasn't working as it should do we took out the server that had SCCM installed and we are going to set up SCCM from scratch. As SCCM was set up before, the System Management container already exists and has the boundary range and site names in there.

Is it just a case of deleting the System Management container and re-creating it or is it easier to leave the container there, delete the boundary points and other objects that are in the System management container and then just do the delegate control step to add the new SCCM server in?
