abillybob Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 Hi All Bit of a weird one. Our print server which is running Windows Server 2012 R2 has decided to rename every printer listed under it and all it's share properties have changed? It's also added printers that weren't there before on it's own? I restarted the print spooler and noticed that the PaperCut Print Provider had stopped so I've restarted this but to no avail. Anyone understand what's gone on or how to revert back? Seems really weird to me. invoicing department, office lf, hf and production department have remained the same Technical New Printer on PIC-SVR has never been added, that's just added itself All other printers seem to have re-created their names Any help would be most appreciated
DJ-1701 Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 2012 R2 does have a habit of putting two printers under the same name, when you right click on one it might show that it has two listed properties... though I would expect if that was the case the shared icon would still be showing... Windows has been known to auto install printers that it has found on the network, might also be the case here.
