snagrat Posted July 19, 2019 Posted July 19, 2019 Is anyone aware of a camera that will focus on the person speaking? I am looking for one to place in the center of a table that will auto pan and focus on the current speaker.
cwilcox Posted July 19, 2019 Posted July 19, 2019 Meeting Owl from OWLLabs has 16 megapixel camera with a fish-eye lens pointed toward the ceiling and uses its multiple microphones to digitally focus on the current speaker. I'm not aware of another product that uses a camera in the center of a table. Other products like Cisco TelePresence systems put a PTZ camera by the room's display and physically move to focus on the loudest source.
SamanthaD Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 The original Surface hub had twin cameras that would change according to who was speaking, not aware of a full PTZ solution though. I'd question having it in the centre of the table though - if two people were talking opposite each other the camera would be constantly swinging 180 degrees, the viewer would get seasick!
Domino Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Polycom do skype for business specific ones: https://www.polycom.com/products-services/products-for-microsoft/lync-optimized/cx5500-unified-conference-station.html The view changes are done in software, no moving parts. We've used them and older versions for years, they're pretty great
