Sorry I have been emailed some contradictory information from my LA.

Do I need to install Patch 25040 if I have already installed the Sims summer install?

Everything else I have read says it is part of the Sims update, so does that mean it will have installed with the Sims summer update or do I now need to install the patch?

Cheers

Glad you asked this. I have seen the SIMS Summer upgrade in our Solus, but not Patch 25040 - despite our SSU suggesting we apply it (they release the patches to us).

The blurb from them is, "Patch 25058 inserts System Check ID 100 and can be found in SIMS - Tools/System Diagnostics/Database Diagnostics"

Looking at the details of the patch it suggests it is a Spring related patch, but as Esteban hints above, it is not included in the Summer release. I am applying the patch this evening, then upgrading to the Summer release next week. If I were making your decision I would backup the DB and apply the patch, then run the database diagnostics.

patch 25040 was NOT included and needs running in addition before the Summer release is applied.

This contradicts everything I have been sent from my LA

This is just one of the many lines from my LA saying the opposite.

The SIMS summer upgrade includes a patch that will protect the SIMS database from the problem of the CTF Import issue (duplicating/merging contacts). There will also be a diagnostics routine that will need to be completed after the upgrade has been applied.

I have already installed the SIMS summer update as requested by my LA

Think things are getting confused.

Patch 25040 is included with the summer release, Patch 25058 which is the diagnostic check to identify any issues isn't included with the Summer release.

My LA have not mentioned 25058

Thank you for clearing that up.

Why on earth couldn't Capita have just put an entry in the 'Fixes in this Release' document and we probably wouldn't be having this conversation.

I'm also a little confused about 25058, since I don't see that in Solus - meaning that it hasn't been released to us by SSU.

Anyone from Capita care to give us an explanation about the mess that has unfolded from the CTF import mess-up.

This is the advice we got from Capita (purely in the interest of clarity).

Following our previous communications regarding CTF imports, we can confirm that the diagnostic tool is now available. We have produced additional guidance documentation as detailed below.

Next Steps

1. As per our previous communication, ensure Patch 25040 has been applied. This will prevent any future potential issue. (This patch has already been applied for Capita Hosted customers)

Please note that this patch has also been included within the summer release. The summer release has just been made available and we will send you further details in a separate communication.

2. Apply Patch 25058 – this will install the Data Base Diagnostic Tool (Check 100). Once the patch has been applied this tool can be run from within SIMS. (This patch has been applied for Capita Hosted customers).

So I can apply patch 25040 (2019 Spring Release Import Patch) or install the summer release.

Then apply patch 25058 (CTF Contact Issue June 2019 Diagnostic - Check ID 100).

Here is what SOLUS 3 has for us...

according to the Capita documentation that details all the patches that are part of the release (https://myaccount.capita-cs.co.uk/Notifications/SIMS-Release-Download-Links/#Patches-Included if you have a MyAccount login), patch 25040 was NOT included and needs running in addition before the Summer release is applied.

Capita have just replied to the call I logged regarding their documentation mentioned above saying "Thank you for getting in touch. We've been informed that patch 25040 was included in the Summer release and the file in question will be updated.". So it looks like Capita just haven't updated their records yet.

So I should have pointed the finger at Capita and not my LA, well I never, who would have thought :0P
