Delanos Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Hi all I raised a call with capita late this afternoon as being critical and hope someone will come back to me. Ive been working on our timetable on and off for the last few weeks. The odd change has come back so ive been dipping in and out of it and making the necessary changes. This afternoon i went to a meeting and came back to load the timetable file. Nova cannot see anything in the particular drive that it is shared in - nothing the screen is blank. Ive opened the folder separately and can see everything is in place. it has been working perfectly up until this afternoon I spoke to our IT who have 'truncated' SIMS to free up disk space as they had said that we had run out of space. Ive now tried again and it still doesn't recognise anything being in the folder. Ive got a laptop with an older version of Nova T and tried to load the file but it just says Unable to load file. As an aside i re loaded this terms timetable and it said something about being unable to write the file. Im now terrified to touch Nova- I re rang Capita and just asked if someone could just load my nova file to see that it isnt corrupted but firstline are unable to do so and I cant upload the file to my case in my account. Can anyone shed any light on this as I foresee a few weeks work going down the drain. and a sleepless night ahead
Delanos Posted July 11, 2019 Author Posted July 11, 2019 Thankyou so much for taking the time to reply- I will talk to IT and ask that we do this tomorrow morning (im not technical so wouldn't know where to start with what you have said) In the meantime I have loaded a backup and spent the last couple of hours re doing some of the changes I had already made so at least all is not lost and i can go to work tomorrow and pretend it wasnt such a big deal. Id love to know what the hell happened though...out of the blue- bizarre- so I will definitely update the thread here for whats its worth to people. Thanks again for replying
kmount Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 If the server ran out of disk space it is likely your file was only partially saved so looks corrupted. Hopefully your IT folks can restore from backups, and put checks in place to keep tabs on the disk space. Glad you were able to recover your state and sanity! 1
Delanos Posted July 12, 2019 Author Posted July 12, 2019 Thankyou again - lesson learnt there then as i genuinely did no different myself to any other day. The file is definitely corrupted as I sent it to someone I know at another school who does the timetable and he was also unable to load it. Ill also see if Capita come back to me
