Looking for specific WAPs - Alcatel Lucent IAP 105

Hi all. I'm on the hunt for some WAPs to extend our coverage. We have a reasonably old setup running Alcatel Lucent IAP access points and I'm trying to hunt down some IAP 105 models. I can find plenty of AP 105 (minus the leading "I") but these don't work on our setup as they require a separate controller unlike the IAP models which are controlled by one of the APs themselves.

 

It's a bit of a long shot I know, but do any of you have any of these kicking about in store rooms that you'd like to make a few quid on? I'm hunting for about 10 altogether.

If memory serves me correctly, I think these were rebranded Aruba IAP 105s which might be worth trying?

I thought so too, and bought a couple to test... the Aruba badged ones don't coexist with the Alcatel badged ones unfortunately unless you purchase an Omniaccess controller for about £6k

Just flash them all with the Aruba firmware. Job done they all become ArubaIAP105s. Send me a PM. I think I have a copy of the latest firmware about. Also I do have an older Aruba 3100 controller with licences on it if you want to give me a offer for the tin. Controller based is better than IAP. And I also have a second 3600 controller we are decomisoning in a few weeks. Good for secondary failover, but no licences on that one.

I'm a bit nervous of doing that. Are you certain that I can flash an Alcatel one with the Aruba firmware and it will then work as if it were an Aruba badged AP?
