Server 2019 Static Ip Address not working

Hi all,

i've upgrade and old server from 2016 to 2019

the IP Address is set to the static address before and after the upgrade

Server 2019 keeps saying theres no internet, I cant remote on etc.

however if I set it to Dymanic IP address it works fine, just cant put it to static, anyone else had this weird issue?

Could be filtering/firewall blocking traffic on your static IP.

Also incorrect DNS settings or default gateway.

got it to work, plug the network cable into another spare port on the switch. either i have a faulty switch or theres a config on the switch that the server doesnt like.

I had a similar issue with Server 2019 where it said unidentified network instead of the domain name and suffix when on a static, on DHCP it was fine. I sorted this by restarting the network location awareness service.

It could be a duplicate IP address. If you do an "ipconfig /all" check what IP is reported. If a duplicate IP is detected it will revert back to DHCP or an APIPA address.
