The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Academic Team at Bury Grammar School. This

brand-new post presents a great opportunity for a skilled SQL Report Writer to join our team

as someone who can demonstrate their technical experience in this particular field and is

enthusiastic at delivering good customer service to tight deadlines. Working in this

environment requires good organisation skills, clear and strong communication, a positive

‘can-do’ attitude, a good attention to detail and an analytical approach to working. School is

looking for a SQL Report Writer who wants to have a real impact in helping shape and build

the future systems and processes of our School, keeping our governors, managers, staff,

students and parents effectively well informed.

It will be the SQL Report Writer’s responsibility to ensure that SQL reports are delivered to a

high standard and this will be achieved through drawing requirements and working closely

with the Academic Team. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential as you

will be working with a diverse range of colleagues, with varying levels of expertise and

technical ability.

You will be required to collaboratively establish and refine Schools’ Management Information

System (MIS) reporting portfolio along with providing technical expert advice on appropriate

data reporting and extraction techniques. You will ensure the highest standards of consistent

data is provided.

As SQL Report Writer you will help design and build new visualised reports and dashboards

within our MIS, working closely with different areas of school such as the Academic Team,

Admissions and the Pastoral Teams. It is essential you are a confident communicator who

can share information in a technical manner and provide analytical insight and requirements

but can also translate this information in an agile way.

Applications

Application is by submission of the School application form and covering letter addressed to

the Principal (no more than two sides) in which you refer to the criteria set out in the person

specification and outline your vision for the role.

The completed application form and covering letter must be uploaded via the school website:

https://burygrammarschools.breathehr.com/recruitment/vacancies/4742 by no later than
