gaz003 Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 I have found that in the new image of windows 10 LTSC 2019 when a student logs on it automatically pops up in the corner about the HP smart app. Students can click on this and start adding printers found on the network. Is there a way to stop this app from running? or is there a way to block the app through group policy? Hopefully someone might have come across this themselves
Arthur Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 (edited) Try enabling the "Prevent device metadata retrieval from the Internet" GPO, delete any cached user profiles and then get a student to login again. See link below for more details. www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/201529-disabling-manufacturers-app-custom-icons.html#post1720232 Alternatively block the app using AppLocker. I think it will show up as AD2F1837.HPPrinterControl in the "Packaged App Rules" section. Edited June 4, 2019 by Arthur 1
