We are currently using Mifare Cards for a our door entry (Net2), Printers and Sign In system (InVentry)

We have a Net2 card reader in our office. Is there some software that can read and convert the card so it give me the card ID for each reader we have?

I want to be able to sync the card from AD rather than have to walk round three different machines to register it.

We add it onto net2 in my office.

Then go to reception to register the card on reception.

And then go to. A printer and register it on there as well.

Often the card readers act as a keyboard, so can read the number into notepad.

Inventry have a 'blaster' app that lets them configure the card reader to read different types of cards

Where you might have problems is if you are reading stored data from the card. For example, we use iClass cards - and read the iClass ID - inventry's reader does not support that and reads something different from the card.

Also, I think inventry might have added functionaltiy recently to pick up students signing in from paxton doors - If i remember spotting that, I would have thought there's a good chance you can get inventry+net2 reading the same string.

We have Inventry but also Net2 running here. Sometimes I re-use a card and so have to remove it from the Inventry system register for one user so I can register it against a new user.

I just open Notepad and press the card to the reader. I then get a few characters of text which is that card's ID number.
