Reprotec and/or Riso recommendations

Good evening.

 

We are in the process of processing quotes for some new printers for our school. Would there be any Nottingham based school that would be willing to share their thoughts and/or experiences with either Reprotec (Nottingham) or Riso (Happy to have DM's) and if possible a visit to see them in a real world situation?

 

We've been stung in the past with printers and so our number one concern is due diligence on both companies.

The Kyocera printer drivers Repotec use are a bit rubbish, caused BSOD with specific fonts, had to enable driver isolation when we got new models, general bleh.

 

Also they had the council's domain admin password from when we used to be a council school, which they decided to use as the username for scanning. They don't have it now. And their printer usage reporting software is terrible. Also they had no updates to switch the old printers to smb 2, still used smb 1 in 2019.

 

On the hardware side it's fine, but copiers are 99% software now, and they don't seem to have learned anything about security.
