Looking for a good touch screen that doesn't break the bank

We already have a 65" Prowise in one classroom and we're looking to get another screen. It doesn't have to be Prowise or the same size, but it does have to be the most bang for your buck with as little delay as possible when drawing/writing. It will be used in one of the reception classes, so some simple art application and possibly some touchscreen games would be great.

 

I saw so many screens at the Bett show they have all blurred together in my mind, if I knew we were going to be buying another one a few months later I would've paid more attention

The Sharp screens are a lot cheaper than your CleverTouches/Smartboards etc. and the hardware is still excellent. The PN65SC1 is the 65in model, we've been getting them installed by Sharp directly for about £1600 all in (including 3 year warranty). Comes with some basic free software for writing on the screen that's surprisingly competent, but not specifically an art application, and no games. I warrant you can find something like that around on t'internet for nowt, though.

Why does a 65" non touchscreen cost £600, but adding a touchscreen means it's £1600?

its because of the extra technology to make it a touchscreen and to make it resilient to hands/pens pressing on the screen constantly. Also a non touchscreen is basically just a large TV where has the touchscreens come with a lot more software. hope that helps
