Quickest Deployment Method - Windows 10 / Mac OS Mojave on iMacs

Hey guys,

 

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this as I'm seeing so many different ways of achieving this (mostly with mixed success)...

 

We've got 17 iMacs running Mac OS (some old version, never even used - half of them don't even boot to the OS?) and Windows 7 via Boot Camp (set as the default boot option, working great). These were all done manually on an individual basis (as my knowledge of Mac / deploying Macs at the time was extremely limited, and being pushed for time this was the quickest way to get them running).

 

I'm looking to bring them all in line with the rest of the building by having them all on Win 10 and Mac OS Mojave. The Mac side will unlikely be used but it would be nice if it was domain joined at the very least so it's somewhat 'usable'.

 

How would you guys suggest I go about deploying them the quickest & easiest way possible? (preferably without any additional costs / paid software - budget is practically non-existent)

 

I've used CloneZilla/Norton Ghost for quick & dirty deployments in the past (going back years!), but primarily we use WDS / MDT for everything nowadays.

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

you could probably (i havent tested this so this is just me thinking out loud) boot them from an mdt memory stick and deal with then as a non pxe pc (they may support pxe but i dont know) obviously make sure youve backed up anything you need to backup before trying. other than that if you have a customised mdt image you could copy that wim file rename it to install.wim and put on a normal windows 10 usb stick

Do you have a Mac server in the mix? If so DeployStudio will do what you want - build one machine with your two partitions, installed as you wish. Sysprep the Windows side, copy back both images and then deploy to the others.
