Google Certified Innovator - London 2019

Some good news that I wanted to share with fellow EduGeek members. Both @ITBadger (whom I didn't know until the announcement last week!) and I were selected to take part in the Google Certified Innovator academy this July in London. For those who don't know what the programme is, here is a snippet from Google:

 

The Google for Education Certified Innovator Program supports educators in developing new projects for their classrooms and school districts. Members participate in a year-long mentorship program that begins with workshops called Innovator Academies where teachers, coaches and Google experts learn from each other.

Out of many 100s of applicants, 36 were selected to take part in the academy this July in London. I know that all of us who were lucky enough to be selected are extremely excited to be part of the programme and I wanted to share the news with fellow EduGeek members.

 

As part of our applications, we all needed to submit a 60 second video briefly explaining the challenges in education that we want to help find a solution for.

Yes, we are all getting rather excited about the opportunity; particularly the chance to tease some of our American colleagues about their use of 'fanny packs'.
