Windows 10 search not displaying results

Hi, I'm having difficulty using the search function in Windows 10, the search is somehow disabled, as shown in the image above.

I have checked that Cortana is not disabled and it isn't so I'm unsure what could be causing this. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Are there any Event 1000, Application Error entries in the [Application] event log?

There is one, however it is not related to Cortana, that one is for a third party application that was installed
