adrianjones Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 Just planning for the summer for a new domain controller. Just wondering what's the difference between Windows server 2019 and Windows Server?
Jcx500 Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 I think Windows server is just the core and no option to install the GUI 1
ThatBoringBloke Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 From memory (can't be arsed to fact check) Windows Server 2019 is the equivalent of Win 10 LTSC and Windows Server is like Win 10 CB (and probably randomly updates and applies new 'features' twice a year).
Arthur Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 The Windows Server 2019 install.wim contains four different editions (2 x core and 2 x with a GUI). The one you probably want for your DC(s) is the second index. 1
