hi all,

So I've not done much on this previously so bare with me please.

Domain Currently Server 2008 R2 and I'm looking at upgrading shortly.

I'm in private sector so cals are expensive!

So do I need to install Windows Server 2016 on-prem or go Azure AD? Would I be able to upgrade my domain functional level like this?

I've not done much on my AD in some time. Next year I want to look at going O365 so I am thinking that going Azure AD would help me in the future. The over all strategy is go to more cloud rather than on-prem. Or do I need both?

Thanks

That's rather an open ended question really :p

Give us some more info, how big is the company? Where do the workers work? Is it all remote based/travelling, or one office etc? What programs/services?

If it's a small company it's likely that AzureAD will work out better, if it's bigger and there's no "real" need for everyone to be fully remote it's most likely standard server will work better (Depending on hardware costs etc I guess?)
