Upgrading Windows 7 to windows 10 through power shell remotely

I am trying to execute Windows 10 1803 setup.exe with power shell remotely. I have copied a folder with the Windows 10 files on 300 computers. I would like to execute the setup.exe remotely on 20 computers at a time. I was wondering if anyone has attempted this or if anyone can give me some suggertions.

Can’t help you with the power shell script but I can give you the command line you need to use

 

\\server\Windows\10\1803\setup.exe /auto upgrade /DynamicUpdate disable /pkey YOUR-KEY-HERE

I ran this command with psexec and excluded the pkey option. In the task manager it says that the setup is running yet there is nothing happening. It has bee running over an hour.

I just tested this and got it automated enough, so that all you will have to do is create a bat file with a one line command.

I ended up using Windows Deployment Toolkit and ran through the wizard as explained in this link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/upgrade/upgrade-to-windows-10-with-the-microsoft-deployment-toolkit .

 

I then modified the bootstrap file inside of WDT using this link: https://www.itsupportguides.com/knowledge-base/configmgr-sccm/customising-bootstrapini-in-mdt/

The wizard will create the share file needed for the deployment and create the setup that you desire for the upgrade, this upgrade process keeps all user files. It seems like alot of work, but it honestly took me about 30min of actual work to get it setup. Below is an example of my bootstrap commands that I used to modify the install
