TwistedHelixis Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 need to replace a hdd in a Latitude 3450 with a new SSD drive, does it matter if I get SATA 2, SATA 3 etc?
synaesthesia Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 No, faster the better but they're compatible either way (and you'll not notice difference anyway). Cant really get many sata 2 SSDs any more anyway. 1
Arthur Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 It shouldn't matter, but given the Latitude 3450 supports SATA 6Gb/s SSDs I can't see any reason to choose a SATA II SSD. SATA II SSDs are going to be ancient and not very good anyway even if you could buy one. 1
bald_pig Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Ok, I'm curious, where have you found a SATA 2 SSD for sale?
TwistedHelixis Posted March 27, 2019 Author Posted March 27, 2019 Its a selection box, down the side bar on Amazon.
bald_pig Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Its a selection box, down the side bar on Amazon. doesn't bring up any sata 2 ssd's for me though
TwistedHelixis Posted March 27, 2019 Author Posted March 27, 2019 Lol - I did not even get that far. Noticed it gave me an option and thought I had better check first. :0)
