Paul_Don Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Hi, we have a test FMS setup for training and the team that delivers the training are getting new laptops and need fms installing. How do I tell where the current installation is looking for it's database info. Basically, I can install FMS okay, but I don't know where the database is held. I can see the connect.ini but I don't know any more than that. Thanks
theeggmaster Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Take a look at the FMSconnect.ini in the FMSSQL folder within SIMS.
Paul_Don Posted March 21, 2019 Author Posted March 21, 2019 It just shows Server=(local)\sims2012 database=fms So, does that mean that it's all currently installed on the local pc. It is just on this pc for training purposes, so no live data.
theeggmaster Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Yes, that looks to be the case. On my FMSconnect.ini, it has our server name instead of (local). 1

Thanks If you are training team (School Support) then you will have paid Capita for you license and support for this product including new installations. Most likely you will need to install SQL on the new laptops and attach the DB's to them. 1
