As a brand new member, just wanted to say hi and as I have a passion for data and voice cabling (yes really).... happy to offer my opinion if needed

lol really, I can't stand doing it myself. You mean you like going up into the ceiling spaces and getting covered in all that nasty stuff they have up there? It's a chore to me, running the Ethernet, putting the trunking on the wall, terminating the end pieces man what a palaver :-)

know what you mean as I've done hundreds of unpleasant installs like that but even then I get satisfaction installing unseen cabling with regular fixings, right angled changes in direction etc. My fave though is cabinet migrations and overhauls where I really get busy

The hands on physical side of IT has always been my favourite. Building PCs, putting switches and servers into racks. Basically anything that requires a screwdriver or powertools!
