Stupid question time!

Can anyone just explain to me what the difference is between Chain Transformation, active full backups and synthetic backups are.

I've read through their documentation but still it ain't going in.

What we do at the moment is and this is how I see it:

Monday - Friday: are incremental of the Hyper-V cluster - this meaning only the files that have changed are backed up.

Saturday: A Synthetic backup is ran against these incremental backups, i guess consolidating them into one backup file for that week

Our restore points are set to 14 days.

If that's the case, where does Transform previous backup chains into Roll Backs

and where does Active Full backups come into this

Is an active full backup what it says, VEEAM does a FULL BACKUP of the server(s) on that job?
