G suite, can we block email addresses showing between primary & secondary domain?

Our secondary domain is only for the Federation to email each other or save some docs, but when they go to send an email it also lists everyone in our primary domain and this is apparently causing a bit of confusion.

 

In G suite, can we block email addresses showing between primary & secondary domain?

Just to clarify. Each of your users has 2 email address, one for each domain. You want to configure the directory just to display 1 address?

 

Go to the G Suite Admin Console > Directory > Settings > Share settings.

 

You will have the attached options.

No, the federation users are only in the second domain and the school staff are in the primary domain only.

 

I notice in your screen grab, only show addresses on the users primary domain. So does that mean if selected users of our second domain would only see the addresses for users in the second domain (which is what I need) or that they would only see users for the primary domain????

Those settings are for people who have multiple email addresses on 1 mailbox. People who change their name (usually after getting married) have a legacy email address so they receive messages from people who haven't updated their records but we hide it.

Yep that is possible - Go to the G Suite Admin Console > Directory > Settings > Visibility settings

 

You will have to create a custom directory to set who can see what.
