VMware ESXi Hypervisor on ML350 G5 server

Hi All,

Not sure if this is in the right forum?? -

 

Does anyone know if VMware ESXi Hypervisor 6.7 (or what version) will run on a HP ML350 G5 server via a bootable pen drive? I know it not on the compatible list, I was just wondering is anyone has tried it ??

I haven't tried it, but I wouldn't think it would refuse to run, you just may have stuff not working optimally (again I don't think it would be an issue really they work with most drivers for things like Raid/storage)

I don't think the G5's meet the CPU requirements for 6.7. I'd suggest using 6.0U3 which should work. Use the HP custom image for per Gen 9 servers - https://www.hpe.com/uk/en/servers/hpe-esxi.html
