Chromebooks for Exam Concessions

Hi all,

 

I know this has been asked previously but I wondered if anyone had actually used Chromebooks for Text to Speech and word processing (meeting the exam criteria)? We've been using them as a screen reader using the inbuilt reader and we are happy this works well but will be looking at using them for word processing also.

 

Any advice would be great.

What do you use for the screen reader?

We are in the same boat looking for this for written exams and maybe listening exams. Did you get anywhere? I've just seen this https://www.cricksoft.com/uk/docsplus/chromebook has anyone used it?

Listening we use a playlist on Windows Media Player on PCs.

We still use the inbuilt text to speech function in Chrome which seems to be working well, as for word processing one of my team knocked something up in php that works great, auto save etc.

We've been using Chromex recently and its been really smooth. I think one of my team checked with the exam boards we use and they were happy with it. Not sure if it does text to speech.
