HP Replicated BIOS setup - HP Compaq 8200 Elite SFF PC's

Hi All,

 

Has anybody ever used the HP Replicated setup feature in HP PCs? i.e. the option to clone the BIOS settings from one computer to another?

 

If so I was wondering how you found it, did it work OK, or did you have any issues etc? Obviously if this works as expected I'd sooner use than than manually set the BIOS options on 40x PCs! They are HP Compaq 8200 Elite SFF PCs all 40x the same make/model.

 

It looks like the clone to USB option is the best one to use.

I used the command line tool a few years ago. Set the options on 1 PC and then capture the settings. Then apply as part of a task sequence. It was just Asset ID that needed manually adding.

I've come across a few posts where somehow the serial number of the PC was cloned across as well? Weird!

I have used the replicated set up to setup a ICT room worth of desktops. The file it creates is a text file so changes can be made quite easily. I used a USB pen to do it was quick and easy.
