I am sure you had some inbox messages offering you some examples but if not this is how I do it here. So I normally have a document which outlines all of the IT areas see example below this is actually from someone on Edugeek but I cannot remember who and I don't have the original but you can create from it

ICT-DEVELOPMENT-PLAN.jpg

From that document I colour code each element red being ones that need doing urgently I then create a 3 year IT strategy document on this I just have each year set out then a table with Project / Estimated Cost / Time Scale / Notes / and basically list out all the projects that need doing in each year. I support that document with a more detailed account of each project you know why etc and who.

These documents are used as framework for any IT Development meetings so its constantly getting updated/changed. I then use that document to make project proposals so just outlining the need for project, how it will impact teaching and learning the cost etc.

@Griff Your attachment seems to have failed. I just get a message to contact the Admins!

@ful56_uk - I have in the past broken it down into:

- where you are

-- Describe the infrastructure, DR/BC, clients, services, and staffing so if your document reaches levels that may not have an indepth knowledge of your department they can get up to speed.

- evaluation of where we have come from (so effectively evaluating what we did from the last time)

-- Go over what has been done and how it went, especially important if nothing has been done in a year due to budgetary restraints or sloth on someone else's part.

- where we want to be (department vision)

-- How do you want the department to operate?

- yearly development plan

-- each year what do you want to implement

- further recommendations that may need looking at that aren't necessarily your remit to kick off or initiate.

--Projects or services that may cause issues or need to be renewed/implemented
