Google is failing me, I’m also not sure this is the right forum so mods please move if not.

I have a few HP MFP m130fn devices, Server 2012 R2 server, papercut and Windows 10 clients.

If the MFP is connected via usb or on the same IP subnet and allowed access to it via IP the device will show up as a scanner. Windows also suggests I get the HP smart app and auto installs it. This allows me to scan. The old windows fax and scan also works.

I’d like to force them to print through the papercut server, but allow them to scan. If I setup the usb or direct IP they will have two printers show up for the same device.

I’ve tried to setup Windows scan management / DSM but have no idea what to do on the client side. I’m not even sure that is the tech I need.

I just want to share the scanner though the server the same way the printer is shared.

Also any recommended scanning software, the built in windows fax and scan looks clunky and dated.

Thanks

My home hp mfp has a scan to network folder feature as well as scan to Dropbox / google drive etc etc. Can you not create a share to dump the scans into.

Or

Scan to Dropbox and share drop location url for people to connect to?
