Laptop/Notebook Security Locks

Anyone had any experience of these?

 

I need 2 and don't want to be bankrupted in the process... we are an independent prep school - small, well-behaved, well-supervised classes so they don't need to be fortress strength. What we really want to do is stop teachers from moving the machines!

The general term is a micro saver. Kensington are one of the biggest makes: Amazon.co.uk: Kensington Twin Microsaver: Kensington: Electronics & Photo

 

Those ones on ebuyer look like they would do the job though.

Yep those are the ones! Re-reading my post I can see that it could be interpreted that I was implying quality by my use of the word standard which I wasn't. I meant one of the biggest makes, I'll edit it now.

 

However all these kind of light weight locks will only stop the casual thief picking the machine off a desk.

However for our purposes, that is what we need... I was simply wondering whether, in the budget range, some were known to be better than others

I don't think there's anything that will stop someone with a pair of bolt cutters (ordinary scissors for one we tried!) or a big screwdriver (you can lever the "lug" out of the kensington lock slot) but if it's just to make people think "umm; maybe that isn't meant to be moved" then I think you can't go far wrong :-)
